This was a very useful resource in enabling me to understand the concept of aesthetics and its impact on the history of art. It showcased the historical developments of aesthetics and how it has informed artistic practice.
This connecting well to my interest in ancient artefacts and art as the Charlton traces back the history of aesthetics looking at ancient Greece and the evolution of cultural and philosophical movements, specifically how key thinkers like Plato, Aristotle, Immanuel Kant how impacted on how aesthetics are perceived.
